Kythira: Greek Island Photography
9-day photo tour to the Greek island of Kythira
Kythira Golden Resort is happy to continue its cooperation with the Dutch photographers Anton Harfst and Laurien van den Hoven (Photothema). Together we have made a program for a 8-day photo tour on our beautiful island, which was launched with great succes in 2012.
Kythira: colourful island
The Greek island of Kythira is known as the place of birth of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. In ancient times many places of worship were dedicated to her. Today Kythira is a colourful and lively island, with plenty of villages tucked away in the landscape with its rolling hills and deep gorges. These villages – with their old wells, kamares (traditional houses), ovens and pots and plants – are vibrant with life, thus creating attractive scenes for photography.
During the photography vacation we travel over the island to capture villages, people, nature. We take ample time for photography. Learn to photograph specific features in an eye catching manner. Capturing the colours of Kythira is the read thread in our program. Information, tips and assignments will based on your camera, your knowledge and level of experience. Beginning photographers will be supported in using the right camera settings, while we challenge more advanced photograhers to discover their own style of photography. Before dinner in one of the beach taverns in walking distance of our hotel, we view and discuss a daily selection of photos in a joint session.
